Marco Polo is a real explorer! He has the tendency to take our guests to the longest routes, sometimes even a month long! In that case, he never skips his former home, Lofoten. Marco was built by Vlado, founder of Benzini Campers in the harsh conditions of arctic winter above the polar circle as the first campervan. He is the beginning of the now much-loved campervan rental.

Location

Like all our campervans, Marco’s home is now in Sandefjord town, 15 minutes from Torp Airport and 1,5 hours from Oslo. Those three locations are where we personally deliver the campervans to you. Both Sandefjord and Oslo are great starting points to embark on an unforgettable road trip in Norway.

Winter-ready

This campervan is a custom-made one, ready for any weather conditions. The camping part of the car is very well insulated and covered with oak wood. Because in Norway you never know if July will be 25 or 5 degrees, warm air made by a powerful parking heater is only a button away. Too hot? Open the roof window, lay in the bed and stargaze.

Layout

Marco’s bed is a foldable one, very easy to set up. Sleeping bags follow in the campervan, together with pillows, sheets and bedding. While the bed is not in use, it works as a U-shaped sofa, with the possibility to put a table in the middle.

Kitchen

Since Marco Polo is a super compact campervan, its kitchen is an outdoor one. Both the gas stove and a compressor fridge are drawers pulled out from the back. The gas stove comes with several gas cartridges (230g), depending on the length of your trip. Do you worry about bad weather and cooking options? The gas stove is portable and you can take it anywhere where it’s hidden from the rain. The kitchen is equipped with all utensils you might need for camping cooking. There is no tap running water, yet you can do your dishes in a foldable sink. The freshwater tank is 12 l big.

Electricity

All electric devices such as a fridge, lights, USB outlets and a diesel heater are powered by a leisure battery that charges while driving. You can charge your devices by plugging them into USB ports or you can add a voltage converter to your campervan rental and charge at 220 V while driving.

Driving

For the ultimate comfort during the driving part of your journey, Marco has 2 comfy seats, storage compartments in the cab, plenty of CDs to play, an AUX inlet with an AUX cable and just as in all of our campervans a phone holder. It is a manual transmission vehicle and runs on diesel. Its 60-litre tank will hold for a while since its fuel consumption is only 6l/100km!

What our guests said about trip with Marco Polo

Lisa
What a beautiful adventure! We hired the Marco Polo van from 31/07 to 12/08 and it was a perfect travel companion. Already at first glance it appeared functional and cared for down to the smallest detail and during the holiday we did not change our minds. In fact, we have never lacked anything and we have never had any problems even from a mechanical point of view, despite the 4500 km traveled. Lena and Vlado proved to be very helpful and professional and communication was always fast and efficient. We recommend Benzini Campers to anyone who wants to have a unique experience and to those who want to experience Norway at 360º. We can't wait to go back already!

We had an amazing time in Norway and loved the camper (Marco Polo). After good communications online/ mail, Vladimir welcomed us at Sandefjord and explained everything we needed to know about the camper and how to make our trip through Norway a great experience! Vladimir thought about everything which explains why the camper itself has all the amenities you're gonna need. Moreover it's lovely decorated and provides you with all things you need to enjoy the Norwegian nature at its best! Every day you will find another beautiful spot to camp with stunning views. Because the camper is not to big, it's easy to manouvre and park and all works perfecty fine. Thank you again Vladimir for your flexibility, good communications and getting the best out of our trip through fantastic Norway. We'll definitly be back 🙂

I'm looking for a car for a trip around Norway. I am currently reading an article on dobrodruh.sk about Benzinicampers. In a few days, I'm already sitting in Marco and enjoying the manual transmission and the sound of a diesel engine around the hardangerfjord. A cozy and reliable small car that will provide you with everything you need on the road, at the same time it does not occur, so you can sleep peacefully even in the forbidden zone. 5 degree I advise only in the tunnels otherwise behind me still a column, know where to hurry when you are surrounded by mountains. The helpful and kind landlords Vladko and Lenka will only add to the overall feeling of satisfaction and happiness from the whole trip. 6⭐️of 5. Thank you.

Amazing . They are not renting cars, they are selling experiences, as they said, and it's 100% true. Both of owners are real professionals, in every way, very kind and helpful ! 🙂 The car they rent me was very clean and in great condition, I have literally nothing to complain. Thank you guys
