Even in a few days, you can see beautiful places and reach Western Norway&#8217;s fjords and glaciers with a campervan. To make it easier for you, we embarked on a four-day road trip to provide you with a detailed itinerary. We made the trip in four days, however, I&#8217;ll share more places to see with the possibility of prolonging your trip.<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As our campervans are located in <strong>Sandefjord<\/strong>, the trip started from there. You can also choose to rent a campervan from Oslo, we will deliver it to you.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our first stop was <strong>Dagali<\/strong>, where we visited our friends. Dagali is known for various <strong>adrenaline activities<\/strong>, such as rafting, canyoning or even go-kart and paintball. It was great to sit down on a bench and enjoy the calmness of the place. We could hear a strong waterfall on the other side of the fjord. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to have a closer look at distant places on the fjord or lake, rent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinicampers.com\/product\/paddleboard-sup\/\">paddleboards<\/a> and have views like no one else. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Close by, in the harbour, is a boat stop that offers ferry rides to <strong>N\u00e6r\u00f8yfjorden<\/strong>. The road is very narrow and has seven hairpin turns. Otternes<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3611ba6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3611ba6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Fl\u00e5m is a little town lying at the end of the Auralandsfjord and can&#8217;t be missed on a Western Norway road trip. It is known thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.norwaysbest.com\/flamsbana\/?utm_source=visitnorway.com&amp;utm_medium=listing&amp;utm_content=visit-website-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Fl\u00e5m railway<\/strong><\/a>, which is the most spectacular train ride in Norway and according to Lonely Planet, one of the best ones in the whole world!<\/p><p>\ud83d\udeb2 You can rent a bike and ride through the Fl\u00e5m Valley, side by side with the train. My advice is to ride the train from Fl\u00e5m to Myrdal and ride back on the bike. \u2757This adventurous experience is possible when the road is cleared of snow. The bike rental therefore opens in <strong>Jun and shuts down in mid-October<\/strong>.<\/p><p>On the way back from Fl\u00e5m towards Auralandsvangen, stop by <strong>Otternes Bygdetun<\/strong>, old farmhouses, overlooking the fjord from above. With the help of the park4night app, we found our place instantly. We slept <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/V78HpjZx5QNeG2er5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">by the road<\/a> that comes from Aurandsfjellet. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because it was closed, there was no traffic noise. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinicampers.com\/wild-camping-in-norway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">right to roam<\/a>, one can spend a night almost wherever he likes.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The little town has endless <strong>hiking opportunities<\/strong> that we, unfortunately, didn\u2019t use during our trip. We took a morning walk through the sleeping town and took some nice pictures of <strong>wooden houses in the centre<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From L\u00e6rdals\u00f8yri, drive through a tunnel to embark on a ferry that leads to another tunnel.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element Stop at a rest point to have a last look at part of the Sognefjord, an arm called <strong>Fj\u00e6rlandsfjord<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Tip<\/strong>: There is a floating sauna in Fj\u00e6rland. As you may have learned, it is part of the <strong>biggest glacier in continental Europe, Jostedalsbreen<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> B\u00f8yabreen is easily visible from the road. There is a restaurant open in the summer from which you can enjoy the view of the glacier. It may be not so popular, but villages <strong>Loen<\/strong> and Stryn will for sure sound familiar to you. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I found this fjord a bit boring after what we have seen in Sognefjorden. The mountains are not so high anymore. When we reached Loen, it was raining and the mountain with the skylift was covered in fog. As we expected, there were \u201cno camping\u201d signs everywhere and one can park the campervan (almost) only at the <strong>campsites<\/strong>. At this location, it\u2019s absolutely worth paying for the campsite, because they are right on the beach. Jump to the lake right from the campervan&#8217;s bed in the morning. And the views! We recommend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Helset-Camping-Lodalen-103133451458176\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Helset camping<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I wrote <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">almost <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">because, at the end of the lake, we managed to find <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/doSLUG9r8hY7uqT49\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one place<\/a> without the sign. Our choice was made by nature since the road was closed for winter. If you pay a visit to Geiranger, consider <strong>prolonging the trip for more days<\/strong>. It would be a shame to leave it immediately after coming, right?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here you can drive up to the <strong>\u00d8rnesvingen<\/strong> <strong>viewpoint<\/strong> or find yourself an interesting hiking path. I would definitely choose to hike to an old farm called <strong>Skagefl\u00e5<\/strong>, from where one can see the <strong>waterfall Seven Sisters<\/strong>. Remember, you must take a boat (or kayak) to get to the starting point. This road also belongs on the <strong>National Tourist Roads\u00a0<\/strong>list and we haven\u2019t doubted it once. It is spectacular from the start to the end. The experience was even better in March because of the high snow walls surrounding the main road.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The road was closed the whole winter and opened at the end of March when the snow was cleared from the road. There were <strong>2-meter-high snow walls<\/strong> along the road. When we \u201cclimbed\u201d it, we found an endless <strong>snow playground<\/strong>. Here we found a spot for night by <strong>Bessheim Fjellstue<\/strong>. One can choose from a hotel, camping ground and simple parking lot suitable for a campervan. Because we didn\u2019t need any extra service that night, we parked on the lot for about 60kr, where toilets were available for us.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-de83f39 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"de83f39\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Besseggen<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dd2c90e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"dd2c90e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This ridge is a <strong>must-see<\/strong> for everyone! Because we hiked it before and there was still snow on it, we just took a short break by Lake <strong>Gjende<\/strong> in Gjendesheim, where the hike starts. The lake was still covered by ice and snow, so people were still skiing on it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To hike Besseggen, you will most likely want to take a ferry at some point.
