Tucked away at the upper end of the Telemark canal amidst mountains and cascading waterfalls, Dalen boasts a must-visit attraction\u2014a remarkable <strong>sauna Soria Moria<\/strong> perched on Lake Bandak. Reservation is a must for this gem.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-173c701 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"173c701\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Vrangfoss Locks<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ad9da14 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ad9da14\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>En route to Dalen, we stopped at <strong>Vrangfoss Locks<\/strong> and <strong>Eidsborg stave church<\/strong>. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Telemark canal starts in Skien which is located lower than Dalen. To overcome the 75-metre height difference, boats must use 18 locks (lifts). The decision paid off. <strong>Hardangerfjord<\/strong> in the full spring bloom blew our minds off. Another one on our list was <strong>Steinsdalsfossen<\/strong>. Sometimes, there are hidden gems on them. The fjord is always calm, it&#8217;s not too wide or busy. We then ventured to Fl\u00e5m, a bustling hub of activity offering a plethora of experiences, from the iconic Fl\u00e5msbana train ride to <strong>scenic kayak tours<\/strong>.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can spend a full day there and not be bored. However, note, that this day won\u2019t be for free. All activities require an average of 1000 nok payments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Fl\u00e5msbana train ride has increased its <strong>prices<\/strong> and will cost you more than 100\u20ac per person. The train ride is really nice experience <strong>in the heart of nature<\/strong>. It\u2019s at this point where the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasjonaleturistveger.no\/en\/routes\/aurlandsfjellet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scenic Route Aurlandsfjellet<\/a> (open June-September) starts or ends. The viewpoint is conveniently <strong>reachable by car<\/strong> and offers a view that usually only difficult hikes offer.<\/span><\/p><p>Be aware that the <strong>road up to the Stegastein is extremely narrow<\/strong>, steep and winding. The price tag there is 100 kr for one day.<\/p><p>The private <strong>sauna<\/strong> Soria Moria for 2 hours was absolutely worth the 300 kr cost. The <strong>campsite<\/strong> in N\u00e6r\u00f8yfjorden is 400 kr for one camper and 2 adults without electricity (not needed in our self-sufficient campers).<\/p><p>The last expense was on <strong>grocery shopping<\/strong>.
